ARSENIC
and OLD LACE

December 4 - 6 and 11 - 13
7:00 pm

When drama critic Mortimer Brewster (Josh Griffith) discovers that his sweet, elderly aunts (Linda Rode and Rhea Lewis) have been quietly poisoning lonely old men in the name of charity, his night spirals into bedlam. His brother Jonathan (Jake Morrison) arrives with his beleaguered plastic surgeon Dr. Einstein (Graham Koten) in tow, while his other brother Teddy (Ian Chapman) charges through the house convinced he’s Theodore Roosevelt.

Things get more complicated when Mortimer’s fiancé Elaine (River Grace Nelson) and the police force, led by Officer O’Hara (Mason Marshall), get swept up in the absurdity. And the danger...

First produced in 1941, Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic & Old Lace remains a brilliant, hilarious and macabre send-up of familial ties, murderous intent and hidden intentions.

First produced in 1941, Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic & Old Lace remains a brilliant send-up of family, sanity, and small-town respectability. Its humor feels timeless: eccentric relatives, moral absurdity, and the fine line between kindness and madness.

This production, the first official joint production of Tumbleweed Creative Arts and Jackson Community Theater, unites beloved Jackson performers and a new generation of talent, marking the first collaboration between Tumbleweed Creative Arts and Jackson Community Theater. A classic comedy revived for a community that loves its stories a little strange.

Arsenic and Old Lace is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
