The Black Ibis
Dive into a world of mystery and intrigue with Tumbleweed Creative Arts’ latest production, "THE BLACK IBIS," an original murder mystery play written by Andrew Munz, and directed by Josh Griffith and Evie Lewis.
SEPTEMBER 19 - 28
at the Pink Garter Theatre
Murder! Intrigue!
And three possible endings!
Set in 1925 Cairo, the story follows a group of scholars and Egyptologists who have gathered at a gala honoring Lord Reginald Sinclair (Chad Horton), leader of the British Guild of Explorers. It’s at this event where famed archaeologist Cecilia Worthington (Jess Keil-Brown) plans to reveal her findings surrounding the legendary Black Ibis statue, a cursed relic made of obsidian. When a murder takes place in the library, Detective Inspector Edgar Finch (Andrew Munz), must navigate a web of conspiracy and corruption to solve the mystery and unmask the killer. This thrilling dark comedy runs only two weekends, September 19-28 at the Pink Garter Theatre.
"THE BLACK IBIS" is Tumbleweed’s first production with an interactive format—following the interrogations, audiences will vote in real-time to determine one of three possible endings. Additionally, sleuths can enhance their experience with "THE EVIDENCE FOLIO," a prologue puzzle pack full of letters, newspaper clippings and maps, which reveals character backstories, hidden motives, and clues to help solve the case.
The fully-local cast includes Beppe Amodio, Katharine Estes, Konner Frederic, Graham Koten, Rhea Lewis, Mason Marshall, Mariah Morales, and Jesse Morgan. Set design by John Wayne Cook.
This project was made possible with support from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole.
