Acting for the Stage: Session A

CLASS DESCRIPTION
Acting isn’t about memorizing lines—it’s about living truthfully in the moment. In this four-week course, we’ll explore how to be present on stage, build patience, and let characters come alive through you. Utilizing improv, imitation and intentional movement, this course is designed to help students embrace spontaneity and discover how to maneuver confidently in someone else’s skin.

Each week, students will dive into the physical and emotional craft of acting, tackling the essentials of movement, vocal control, and connecting with others on stage. To put it all into practice, one week (either the first or the last depending on the session) will be coordinated to collaborate with student directors from the Directing for the Stage course where students will learn how to audition.

This course is for everyone—whether you’re new to acting or sharpening your technique. Led by Artistic Director Andrew Munz, students will find their path through characters and stories while cultivating patience and presence as an actor’s greatest tools.
