AUDITIONS: "The Importance of Wild Country"

An original folk musical about Mardy & Olaus Murie

written / directed by Andrew Munz & friends
music by Moly Moon Thorn & friends

“We cannot overlook the importance of wild country as source of inspiration, to which we give expression in writing, in poetry, drawing and painting, in mountaineering, or in just being there.” - Olaus Murie

Tumbleweed Creative Arts is excited to present its first youth production, a new musical about Mardy and Olaus Murie: “The Importance of Wild Country.” In collaboration with over fifteen local artists, “Wild Country” is an original creative “quilt”  featuring scenes by multiple local writers and songs by nine different local songwriters. The story is loosely based on the real adventures of the Muries, known as the mother and father of conservation in Jackson Hole, and features vingettes centered around various human and animal characters.

“The Importance of Wild Country” is an opportunity for a creative ecosystem of artists to educate the community about our natural ecosystem through songs and comedic scenes, all in honor of the Murie legacy.
