AUDITIONS: “The Black Ibis”

A classic murder mystery about Egyptologists

written by Andrew Munz
directed by Josh Griffith & Evie Lewis

Murder! Intrigue! And three possible endings!

“The Black Ibis” is an original, interactive theatrical murder mystery written and conceived by Andrew Munz for the Pink Garter stage. Stylized as a classic, single-setting whoodunnit popularized by author Agatha Christie, “The Black Ibis” centers around a group of Egyptologists and artistic patrons in Cairo, Egypt in 1925. The guests have gathered at an exclusive gala honoring the career of Lord Reginald Sinclair, wealthy financier and collector of antiquities.

However, the infamous Detective Edgar Finch is also in attendence, investigating a case surrounding a series of forgeries that have complicated the already complex trade of foreign antiquities. However, that very night, one of the guests is murdered before dinner. Who could have done such a thing? And why is there so much hubbub surrounding the mysterious obsidian statuette known as the black ibis?

Detective Finch much employ his cleverness adn wits (and the aid of the audience) to put the pieces together, identify the culprit and solve the mystery.
