Short Film Showdown

CALLING ALL LOCAL FILMMAKERS

Tumbleweed is proud to announce the SHORT FILM SHOWDOWN, a film competition in which participating individuals and teams must write, shoot, edit and submit an original short film in just 50 hours.

Beginning on Friday, May 17th, registered filmmakers will meet at the Pink Garter Theatre at 5:30pm to hear the parameters that will be required for their films. Parameters may include a specific film genre, a character type, a line of dialogue, a prop or set piece, etc. With that information in hand, teams will be off to create a film within 1-7 minutes, which must be submitted by Sunday, May 19th at 8:00pm.

Films will then be judged by a select panel of filmmakers who will determine the winners of the contest. In addition to “Best Film”, awards will be given out for achievements in acting, editing, screenwriting, directing and more.

Screenings will take place June 21 & 22 at the Pink Garter, with an award ceremony following the screenings on Saturday night.

Think you got what it takes to make the best film in just 50 hours? Register yourself, or a team of no more than 8 people today.

Registration fee: $30

Please note new dates!
